eSIM Activation

You've installed your eSIM. Now here's how to activate it when you arrive at your destination — it only takes a few seconds.

When Does My eSIM Activate?

Most NexaEsim plans activate automatically when your device connects to a supported network in the destination country. Here's what typically happens:

At Home (Before Trip)

Install the eSIM by scanning the QR code. The plan is downloaded but not yet active. No data is used. Your validity period has not started.

At the Airport / Destination

Turn on your eSIM line and enable Data Roaming. Your phone connects to a local carrier and the plan activates automatically. The validity countdown starts now.

Connected!

You now have high-speed internet. Use Google Maps, WhatsApp, social media — everything works instantly.

Activation Steps

iPhone / iPad
  1. Go to SettingsCellular (or Mobile Data)
  2. Tap your NexaEsim plan in the list
  3. Toggle Turn On This Line to ON
  4. Toggle Data Roaming to ON
  5. Go back and set Cellular Data to your eSIM line
  6. Your phone will connect to a local network within seconds
Samsung / Android
  1. Go to SettingsConnectionsSIM Manager
  2. Enable your NexaEsim plan
  3. Set it as the Mobile Data SIM
  4. Go to Mobile Networks → enable Data Roaming
  5. Your device will search and connect to a local carrier

Troubleshooting

If your eSIM doesn't connect right away, try these steps:

  1. Make sure Data Roaming is turned ON for the eSIM line
  2. Toggle Airplane Mode on and off to force a network refresh
  3. Restart your device
  4. Ensure the eSIM is set as the Mobile Data line (not your home SIM)
  5. Check if you're within the plan's coverage area

This usually means the device hasn't connected to a partner network yet. Try:

  1. Go to Settings → Cellular → Network Selection
  2. Turn off Automatic and manually select a carrier from the list
  3. If no carriers appear, wait a few minutes and try again
  4. Make sure you're in the destination country covered by your plan

  1. Check if you've used all your high-speed data allowance (some plans throttle after the limit)
  2. Try switching to a different network manually
  3. Restart your device
  4. Move to an area with better coverage
